My name is Örjan and I love to build clever design that works. Currently freelancing as Art Director and Product Designer with a background in design and development. In short I love to come up with great looking visual concepts based on a solid UX foundation and see it through to implementation.
I designed and coded my first first website in 1998, it was black and yellow and featured information about my fish as well as Leonardo DiCaprio (Post-Titanic). That's when I started developing my love for creating beautiful designs and finding out how to make them tick (even though that first page was far from beautiful).
I’m currently working at a Swedish app-startup called Plotagon where we built an app that allows it’s users to create their own animated movies from text. I started there four years ago as a Graphic Designer and Frontend Developer and now I’m working as Art Director and Product Manager.
Apart from building a cohesive experience for our users with an award winning UI, I have also worked on evolving our visual “Plotagon universe” with characters and content as well as communication, strategy and marketing.
I attended Interactive Art Director (nowadays called Lead Design) at Hyper Island Stockholm between 2014 and 2015 so that I could work more with conceptualizing, ideation, group dynamics and much more. Working with real clients and real cases helped me to gain experience and knowledge to become a better Art Director.
I did my Art Director internship at FCB Inferno in London where I worked with clients like Havaianas, Pearsons, Acqua di Parma and BMW. I loved it and was offered to stay. But after a long and hard decision over whether to stay in London or go back to Stockholm, with my girlfriend and our cat, I decided for Stockholm.
